The Lost City is set to hit theaters this weekend, reminding us that certain films are intended to delight, not merely to win Oscars.
The Lost City, directed by Aaron and Adam Nee, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Dana Fox and Oren Uziel, seems to be the type of classic action comedy that was popular in the early 2000s. Sandra Bullock plays Loretta, an adventure-romance novelist whose books about a sexy hero named Dash usually include a cover photo of a sassy model named Alan (Channing Tatum).
Loretta is abducted one day by an eccentric billionaire (Daniel Radcliffe) who takes Loretta’s novels far too seriously. As a result, in order to save her, the himbo Alan seeks to transform into the noble hero he depicts. Comedic hijinks occur, as one might anticipate.
You know you’re going to be amused with Sandy Bullock, Channing Tatum, and Daniel Radcliffe at the helm. Find out where to watch The Lost City and when it will be available to stream on Paramount+ by reading on.
WHERE CAN YOU SEE THE LOST CITY:
For the time being, the only way to see The Lost City is at a movie theater. On March 25, 2022, The Lost City will be released in cinemas across the United States. Tickets for a theater near you may be found here.
The Lost City will be available to stream on Paramount+, the Paramount streaming service, when it has completed its theatrical run. A premium plan costs $9.99 per month, while an ad-supported plan costs $5.99 per month.
IS THE LOST CITY COMING TO HBO MAX? CAN YOU WATCH THE LOST CITY ON HBO MAX?
No. Because The Lost City is a Paramount film rather than a Warner Bros. film, it will not be available to watch on HBO Max when it releases in theaters. Furthermore, in 2022, HBO Max will stop streaming theatrical movies. Last year, Warner Media chose to put its theatrical slate on streaming at the same time, allowing HBO Max users to watch Matrix Resurrections at home. However, Warner Bros. theatrical films will have a 45-day run in cinemas before coming to HBO Max this year.
WHEN WILL THE LOST CITY BE AVAILABLE FOR ONLINE VIEWING? WHEN CAN WE EXPECT THE LOST CITY TO APPEAR ON PARAMOUNT PLUS?
While there is no official release date for The Lost City on Paramount+, we can expect it to be available after 30 to 45 days in cinemas. Last year, Paramount stated that all of its films will be transferred to Paramount+ after 30 days in theaters, with huge tentpoles receiving 45 days. As a result, The Lost City should premiere on Paramount+ in early-to-mid May 2022.
It’s unclear whether The Lost City will be available on VOD at the same time as the Paramount+ release. While The Quiet Place Part II was released on Paramount+ on the same day that it was published on digital, Jackass Forever was released on Paramount+ without a VOD release. Sign up for Paramount+ if you want to be able to watch The Lost City on streaming as soon as it becomes available.
